Who We Are at New York City Nurses Honor Guard
Our History
We are proud to share the story of the Nurses Honor Guard, founded in 2024 by a group of dedicated nurses who wanted to recognize and honor their colleagues for their exceptional service and contributions to the profession. Since its inception, the Nurses Honor Guard has grown into a respected organization with chapters across the country. Our mission is to celebrate nursing excellence, promote professionalism, and inspire future generations of nurses. Through our ceremonies and events, we pay tribute to nurses who have made a significant impact in their communities and the lives of their patients. We also provide support and recognition to nurses who are continuing their education and advancing their careers. The Nurses Honor Guard is a symbol of pride and respect for the nursing profession. We're proud to be part of a legacy that honors the hard work, compassion, and dedication of nurses everywhere.

Nightingale Tribute
We are the New York City Chapter of the National Nurse Honor Guard Coalition who attend the funerals of our fellow nurses and pay tribute to these heroes who have died. Our traditional white uniform with nurse’s cap and cape is symbolic of our profession and the Nightingale Lamp is a symbol of nursing knowledge as well as comfort and courage lighting the way.
